What has become of all those Shepard's treatises? Etc.

It has been more than 14 months since Lord Thomson extended his domain
over more than 250 former Shepard's treatises; however, I have yet to
see a list of those titles and their ultimate destination. I know most
have gone to CBC and some have been discontinued. Has anyone obtained a
list of these titles who would be willing to share it? Also, does
anyone know which of the West Group companies has taken over "South
Carolina Jurisprudence," which the South Carlina Bar sold to Thomson a
few months back? The folks in Eagan appear to have mislaid it.

I also wish to report that I received a call from a West executive last
week assuring me that they have no plans to abandon the notification
program for lapsed subscribers. It's good to know that the publishers
are listening and that they have decided to continue this valuable
program. All is not lost.

Finally, it appears that Judge Friedman has signed off on the
Thomson-West merger, setting the stage for Hyperlaw's appeal to the D.C.
Court of Appeals. Tom Scheffey's article, dated March 3, appears in
Counsel Connect's news grid. But take comfort, the Department of
Justice and Brian Hall assure us that this is a victory for all
consumers of legal information. We just don't realize it yet. Oh boy, I
can't wait to get my next $252.00 3-volume, softbound index to
"Am. Jur. Proof of Facts."

As they say down in New Orleans, "laissez les revised volumes rouler."
