Bruce, et.al.:

While I agree that there is a lot of material coming out over LAW-LIB, I
frequently find the responses to be as valuable, if not more valuable,
than the original question (and often times wish more people would
respond to the list). That said, I will admit that I also find that a
lot of the subjects are not of direct interest to me, and so I would
rather suggest (and I know people will oppose this) that we once again
consider splitting LAW-LIB into smaller lists that can be tailored to
individual librarian interests.

I am not an ILL or Reference librarian, and so I usually delete anything
that has to do with these topics. That does not mean I don't value the
interraction, it just means that I personally do not need the
information. It would be a lot better for me to be able to choose to
not subscribe to an ILL list and a Reference list, just as it would be
appropriate for ILL or Reference Librarians who are not interested in
acquisitions to not subscribe to an Acquisitions list.

All that said I'm not suggesting scrapping LAW-LIB. It provides a
tremendous amount of information that is of interest to the law library
community at large. Unfortunately, however, there are many people who
choose not to subscribe simply because the diversity can be
overwhealming.

Let's consider the options.
