I second Jim Mumm's endorsement of newlawbooks-l. I use it for
purchases. Also, I never sign off of it, while I do at times sign
off of law-lib.
It does lack a critical mass, however. I suspect if more publishers
started posting their new publications on it, more customers would
sign up. I wonder what any law book publisher could possibly lose by
sending out virtually free advertisements to a willing audience
(which is what newlawlibbers are)?
Having said that, I would discourage publishers from posting new
publications more than twice. Thus far, the publishers who use it
have been most considerate.
