I think NBI publications are really pretty good given that they are
basically
CLE outlines. However, for smaller states (such as Kansas and Montana)
which often don't have many quality handbooks or treatises on different
areas of the law, the NBI publications are particularly welcome.
Moreover, they are most always done better than CLE outlines from other
sources (the state bar association, etc.). At the Univ. of Kansas Law
Library, while I was there, we got all the NBI Kansas publications, and
now that I'm here at Montana we get all the NBI Montana publications.
