DESCRIPTION OF AWARDS

The JOSEPH L. ANDREWS BIBLIOGRAPHICAL AWARD recognizes a significant
contribution to legal bibliographical literature. Bibliographies
published in 1996 are eligible for consideration. The bibliography may
be a book, pamphlet, periodical contribution or a publication in some
other form. To nominate a bibliography, please provide as complete a
description as possible (author, title, publisher, etc.) It is not
necessary to submit a copy of the work. The award is not
limited to bibliographies prepared by law librarians or AALL members.

The MARIAN GOULD GALLAGHER DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD is presented to an
individual for outstanding, extended and sustained service to law
librarianship and to AALL. It is presented to an individual who has
completed or is nearing completion of an active professional career.
Honorees may be recognized for achievement in a particular area of law
librarianship, for service to the Association, or for
outstanding contributions to professional literature. The award may be
given posthumously. To nominate someone for this award, submit the
person's name to the Chair of the Awards Committee. You may also wish to
include reasons why you are nominating the person.
