Baseball in Baltimore at AALL

This is lengthy. If you are not interested in baseball at the AALL
meeting, please delete now.

The Baltimore Orioles will be playing the Chicago White Sox during the
beginning of the AALL annual meeting in July. The Southsiders will be
entertained at Camden Yards on Friday, July 18 at 7:35 p.m., Saturday,
July 19 at 1:05 p.m. and Sunday, July 20 at 1:35. For the real early
birds, the Black and Orange will tangle with the pride of New England on
Thursday the 17th at 7:35 p.m..

I will be happy to make the group arrangements. I am offering to purchase
tickets and to offer a pre-game party option which will be detailed below.
We need to take care of arrangements sooner rather than later. In this
email, I would like to hear what you wish to do. In late January or early
February, I will ask for a firm commitment.

Tickets are in the Upper Deck Terrace for all three games. The best time,
in my opinion, for the pregame party is on Saturday. We have four meal
options, and the Upper Deck Terrace area is available. The bullpen area
requires 250 people as a minimum. Because I do not think I can guarantee
that number, I will explain the other option.

Saturday afternoon beginning 90 minutes prior to game time (11:35 a.m.).
in the Upper Deck Terrace will be private for our group. You cannot see
the field from this spot, but it is close to the seats that will be
available to us. Menu one ($9.75) - Two hot dogs, popcorn, beer and soda;
menu two ($11.75) - one grilled hot dog, one grilled hamburger, Bambino's
baked beans, cole slaw, popcorn, beer and soda; menu three ($13.75) -
grilled honey dijon breast of chicken, kosher pickles, one
grilled hot dog, Bambino's baked beans, cole slaw, and popcorn, beer and
soda; menu four ($15.75) - One Boog's Pit Beef Sandwich, one grilled hot
dog, Bambino's baked beans, cole slaw, popcorn, beer, and soda. Baked
beans, cole slaw, potato salad, corn on the cob, ice cream novelties, and
jumbo cookies are available at an extra price. PLEASE SEND A MENU
SUGGESTION - 1-4 if you wish to attend on Saturday (or another suggested
day).

I know that on Saturday, AALL will have the diversity conference, CONELL,
SIS and Chapter training, and certain meetings. Sunday, however, has more
AALL activities and possible conflicts. Friday is perhaps to early for
the meal event, but I do expect some people will want to attend a game.

PLEASE TELL WHICH NIGHTS YOU WANT TO GO TO A GAME AND YOUR SUGGESTION FOR
THE NIGHT OR DAY OF THE MEAL EVENT.

The tour group from AALL will be offering a tour of Camden Yards, probably
on Wednesday ($15.00). I will be contacting the Babe Ruth Museum about
possibilities there. The Trivia contest will be Tuesday evening. I will
also be checking the schedules for Frederick, Bowie, and other minor
league teams.

To recap - IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING

1. Tell me the day(s) that you want to attend a game. I need a
preliminary ticket count in order to work with Group Sales.

2. If you wish to attend the meal event and your menu choice.

3. Best day for the meal event.

Thanks for your attention to this long letter. The sounds of ball and bat
will soon be filling the air. Play Ball!!
