I am posting this to the lawlib and lawtech groups and (naturally)
apologize for any duplication. It has already been posted to the innopac
list.

The Innovative Users Group (the national one, not the Law Users Group) is
seeking nominations for positions on its steering committee. They are
particularly interested in including candidates from the law community.
Celeste Feather from Georgetown Law (and former ILUG chair) is going off
the Committee in March.
Steering Committee membership involves: attending three planning meetings
a year. These are held in conjunction with the ALA meetings in summer and
midwinter and with the IUG annual meeting, in the spring. Members also
communicate and plan via email. The Steering Committee manages the
activities of the group, with help from other members, including the annual
meeting, the web site, the directory and the enhancement process.
Details are appended below.
The election will be held in February, and new members will serve
beginning in March after the IUG annual meeting. Please send nominations
to lbills@brynmawr.edu or call 610-526-5294.
Thanks.
Anne

Innovative Users Group Steering committee positions to be filled:
Vice/Chair - Chair/Elect. This is a three-year committment - the first
year as vice chair, a position that generally also heads the program
committee for the annual meeting. The next year as chair - with general
responsibility for the Group. The final year as elderly statesperson (past
chair).
Secretary - 1 year - Responsible for mailings and for taking and
distributing minutes of meetings. Note that normally this is a 2 year
position, but as it is being initiated this year we are making it a single
year so it will need to be filled alternately with the Treasurer position.
Treasurer - 2 years - Responsible for collecting dues and fees, managing
the IUG accounts and budget, and keeping the membership list.
Members at large - 2 years - 2 elected each year. The members at large
generally take on various tasks according to their interests. They also
recruit others to help with IUG work. And think up new and interesting
things for us to do!
