For those who asked, northern Nevada's law libraries in
Reno and Carson City have not suffered any major damage
in last week's flooding.
The basement of Reno's new county courthouse was flooded.
The old county courthouse's basement remained dry (with
the Washoe County Law Library's 10,000 books in storage).
The county law library's 2nd floor location kept us safe.
The U.S. Courts library in Reno's new federal courthouse is dry
(as it's on the 9th and 10th stories of that building).
The National Judicial College Law Library (on the University
of Nevada Reno campus) is on higher ground and dry.
In Carson City, the Supreme Court Law Library also was
spared any water damage due to its slightly higher location.
Coincidentally, Chris Anglim's law library disaster article in
the Dec. 1996 _AALL Spectrum_ arrived TODAY (our library's
first weekday open after the floods started New Year's Day).
What timing!
