I am posting this again because I received a response saying it had not
been posted the first time due to technical difficulties.
Quite a number of people were interested in the results to my request for
sources(videos, books, etc.) for instructing first years on plagiarism.
No one had any suggestions, except for James who sent a posting from the
History of Law listserv. An undergraduate constitutional law instructor
gave an assignment to write a paper to his class and found plagiarism
from the Internet. He now has the students meet with him if they plan to
use the web so he can give them citation format, and warns them that it
is quite easy to detect plagiarism from the web.
I would suggest that any of the people who expressed an interest in this
subject who are on the legal research instructor's listserv post a
similar request on it, and post the results to this listserv. E-mail me
if possible.
Thanks.
