I have learned that LRP Publications, which publishes several compressed
volume sets, is no longer sending cumulative supplements. The
supplements are not cumulative, so must be placed on top of each other.
This means that the user must read the text and two supplements(with the
second supplement overlapping the first in many instances) to read about
a given subject--which is often very confusing and difficult. It also
means that libraries must purchase each and every supplement.
Could you please respond to the following two questions? You can
respond directly to me, and I'll summarize responses.
1. What are your reactions to this new procedure? Is it likely to be
more cumbersome and take more time? To cause more errors in research?
Other?
2. Are you aware of any other publishers that are beginning to follow
this practice, particularly in respect to legal treatises?
