Determining which libraries have papers of historical figures

Last week a professor asked me to to determine which libraries have the
papers of the following people: Hatton W. Sumners, John Nance Garner,
Sam Rayburn, Maury Maverick, Tom Connally and Morris Sheppard.

I started my research on Westlaw looking through newspapers to see if
there were any articles that mentioned the libraries. This gave me
two--John Nance Garner and Sam Rayburn.
Next I went on OCLC and tried to search by author; However, this search
was not as successful.
I then tried to locate a reference book that would tell me the special
collections of libraries. I looked in " Guide to Reference Books"
edited by Robert Baley. This gave me the following titles: Directory
of Special Libraries and Information Centers and Special Collections in
College and University Libraries. However, I do not know if these works
will contain the information I need.

I also went back on Westlaw and looked in the ALD (American Library
Direcotry) database, but again, this was not very successful.

Although I would love to know which libraries have these men's papers, I
am even more interested in how to obtain the answer. If anyone has any
insight, please let me know.

TIA
