The Research Committee has been trying to start a discussion about the
future role of the committee. We need your help as the discussion isn't
taking off very well with just the few of us.
The Research Committee was created on the recommendation of the Taskforce
on Standing Committees a few years ago. At the time it was created
(before all the failed dues increases), it was expected that the
Association would be making small grants to support the Research Agenda.
The Committee was charged with making the grants, making recommendations
to keep the Research Agenda up to date and encouraging support of the
Research Agenda. The funding for the grants did not develop when the dues
increases did not pass. So now the question is, what if anything should
the Committee be doing to encourage support of the Research Agenda in
light of the lack of a grant program to administer?
We would like to hear your thoughts.
