HyperLaw has filed a letter this morning with Judge Charles R. Richey
of the United
States District Court for the District of Columbia. Judge Richey is
presiding over the merger of West and Thomson. The letter brings to
the
attention of the Court that Clark Boardman Callaghan, the publisher
of Judge Richey's book Manual on Employment Discrimination and Civil
Rights Actions, is a
Thomson Corporation company and describing how that books like the
manual touched on
many of the issues raised by those objecting to the merger. The
letter also made reference to a heretofore secret agreement dated
March 22, 1996 between Thomson and Lexis-Nexis [just after the merger
was announced.] This agreement was disclosed in the Lexis-Nexis
motion for intervention filed last week.
A copy of the letter filed this morning may be found on HyperLaw's
Web Site. HyperLaw's amicus motion in that case filed on Thursday is
also on the Web Site.
