More New West-Thomson Web Postings 7PM Friday

7:00 PM Friday Sept. 6
HyperLaw's Web page -- www.hyperlaw.com -- has added two more new
postings relating to West-Thomson.

The first new posting are two letters from Edward Jessen, Reporter of
Decisions, State of California, requesting that the California
Attorney General and DOJ withdraw consent to the West-Thomson Consent
Decree.

The second new posting is the Amicus Brief of Matthew Bender &
Company in Oasis v. West, in which Matthew Bender asks that the
Eighth Circuit dismiss the case on jurisdictional grounds -- Matthew
Bender argues that the District Court should have dismissed the case
because their was no case or controversy and cites recent 8th Circuit
precedent.

The HyperLaw Web Page contains comments filed this week with DOJ
including those of Lexis-Nexis, Matthew Bender, HyperLaw, CD-LAW, and
others.

We also understand that DOJ is refusing to make public the comments
it has received -- however, Judge Richey's order requires that DOJ
file with the court these comments and its responses by 4 PM on
September 23, 1996. [see the docket sheet on HyperLaw Web Site]. We
wonder if DOJ has received more comments on this merger [all of which
appear to be negative except for West-Thomsons delight] than in any
other similar proceeding. In U.S. v. Microsoft, only 5 comments were
received.
