** Low Priority **

Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for information about
filing service fees. Several people asked that I post a summary of my
responses, so here goes:

A Boston firm pays $23 per hour.

One NYC firm pays $107 per 7 hour day, plus tax. The filers themselves
are paid about $7.50 per hour. Freelance filers are paid $8-10 per hour.

Another NYC firm pays $15 per hour to an agency for a full-time
filershelver/messenger. They now pay a full-time staff person
$23,000/year.
A Baltimore firm pays $18, but considers this on the high side.

Someone in West Texas considered starting a filing service but found
that CD-ROM was replacing looseleafs, and that there wasn't enough
business.

Filing services in Denver charge between $14 and $20 per hour.

A freelance library service in Kentucky charges $20 per hour.

A Mississippi filing service charges $16 per hour, and has found that
business is dropping off due to CD-ROM.

A Toledo Ohio firm pays $13 per hour for their filing service.

A St. Louis firm pays $15.50 per hour.

A San Francisco firm pays its filing service $16.50 per hour.

Once again, thanks for all the responses. This was a great help in
deciding if this idea will fly!
