       BANKING AND FINANCIAL LAW OF THE EUROPEAN UNION:
       SEVENTH SESSION OF THE ADVANCED TRAINING COURSE
                (BRUSSELS, 18-22 NOVEMBER 1996)

>From 18 to 22 November 1996, the International University Institute
Luxembourg (IUIL) and the European Society for Banking and Financial Law
(AEDBF) organize in Brussels a new session of the Advanced Training Course in
Banking and Financial Law of the European Union.

The Course aims to provide a thorough overview of the whole field of EC
Banking and Financial Law, with emphasis on important current developments.
The teaching staff is composed of the most qualified EC and national
officals, academics and practitioners in the fields concerned. Subjects dealt
with this time include: introduction to EC law (K. Lenaerts), basic banking
directives (B. Sousi), banking contracts and conflicts of laws (J. Wouters),
prudential supervision directives (P. Clarotti), Investment Services
Directive and draft directive on investor protection (C. Cruickshank),
securities laws directives (E. Wymeersch), Collective Funds Directive (J.M.
Fombellida), competition law aspects related to the banking and financial
Sector (L. Gyselen), cross-border payments and payment systems (D. Devos),
GATS and financial services (D. Servais), Economic and Monetary Union (R.
Smits). Intensive practical seminars will accompany the courses.
