Dear all - I've already sent the information to Mr. Huttner, but thought
I'd mention to LAW-LIB folks that there are lists for judges and they are
included in my "Law Lists", but there's an interesting catch...:-)
It works well to search my "Law Lists" by keyword using one word or
character string. For example:
judg
If you do that at http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/law-lists, you'll
get two useful entries, one for the JUDGES list on
LISTSERV@ASSOCDIR.WUACC.EDU and one for JUGENET-L on
MAJORDOMO@LAZIO.DROIT.UMONTREAL.CA (list for French-speaking
judges; send the following message: subscribe jugenet-l)
What you won't get and are actually there with the string "judg" in them
are JURIST-L (list for English-speaking judges), JUDEX (list for
German-speaking judges), and FORUM-MAGISTRADOS (list for
Portuguese-speaking judges), all run by
MAJORDOMO@LAZIO.DROIT.UMONTREAL.CA
As far as I can tell, the entries for them are not being indexed by the
Perl program because I've included solely the URL for getting more
information about them and not a listserv address:
http://www.droit.umontreal.ca/~laliberte/Justiciers/Juges/abonnement.html
So, the catch or caveat? If you don't find a list you're looking
for using the keyword search feature of my "Law Lists", do a word
search through the browsable text also:
http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/~llou/lawlists/info.html
And if that doesn't work, please do not hesitate to contact me directly
as I can double check the list and also my updating files for the
electronic discussion group or Usenet newsgroup you are looking
for. And if there are lists you know of that I should include, please
let me know, and I welcome always constructive feedback on my "Law Lists".
