I unfairly criticized Michie, its order department and Janet Wilkerson in
the complaint letter that I wrote and posted yesterday. Michie did indeed
follow our instructions and put our entire account on notify. What
happened is that we have apparently not finished our project of switching
all our Michie publications to direct subscriptions so that we could
get prepublication notices. We apparently are still subscribing to the
NH statutes and several other publications through William Hein. Hein
correctly placed the order for these volumes and Michie shipped them as
instructed. We did not catch the problem because our serials assistant is
very new to her job. I should have caught it before complaining, but I
didn't. I want to apologize to Janet and Michie for the criticism. Janet
responded promptly and is going to help us prevent future problems by
sending us a list of Michie and Butterworth titles that we are still
receiving through jobbers.
