There are two treatises you might consider. I believe they are evenly
matched. We have Bad Faith Actions: Liability and Damages by Stephen S.
Ashley from our friends at CBC. This is a one volume looseleaf with a
paperback supplement (!) This is a perfectly adequate book. The other
is Insurance Bad Faith Litigation by William Shernoff from Matthew-Bender.
The ABA also produced an item called Bad Faith and Punitive Damages:
Annotations to First-party Insurance Cases, Statutes and Regulations,
1986, supplemented twice, the latest non-cumulative supp is 1993.
I would go with the Ashley book.

According to Christine Stouffer:
..
.. Greetings to all. It was good to see everyone again in
.. Indianapolis. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
..
.. Would anyone be kind enough to recommend a good treatise in the
.. Insurance Law area on Bad Faith. We have Mealey's etc., but we are
.. looking for a few different treatises to add to our collection.
.. (Vendors can jump in at any point ... I'll entertain all suggestions
.. right now!) Thanks in advance.
