For years we have debated the merits of shifting from our paper
ledger to an automated system for bookkeeping. Well, our hand
has now been forced, it seems ledger paper to fit our books is no
longer being made.
Right now we are using a simple, double-entry system. My
requirements for an automated system is that it handle a) multiple
accounts b) encumbrances and c) allow a negative balance. So, what
systems are people using and what would you recommend?
I will summarize all responses for the list.
