There is an EXTREMELY narrow window of time between the end of the
Indianapolis meeting (July 24) and the final date for submitting program
proposals for the 1997 meeting (due August 9). That's just barely over
two weeks!
I strongly urge all OBS members who are interested in working on program
ideas for Baltimore to come to the Education Committee meeting prepared
with developed ideas and proposals for discussion. The OBS Education
Committee Open Discussion is Wednesday July 24 from 12:00-1:15 and will
be chaired by our new Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, Jacqui Paul.
Can't think of anything? Look over the summer issues of Library Journal,
American Libraries, Special Libraries, and a host of newsletters of assorted
chapters and divisions. Watch for the meetings that deal with topics
that you'd like to go to -- those are exactly the kinds of issues/topics
that other law librarians want to know about, too.
Check out AALLNET to see more on program planning specifics and tips from
Don Dunn, 1997 Education Chair. [The tips are especially helpful.] Here's
the URL for those who don't have it already bookmarked:

Program Proposals are available via the Association's Fax on Demand
Service:
Dial 908/544-5901 and listen for voice prompts. Request
documents 620 (Workshop proposal forms) and/or 630 (Program
proposal forms).
See you in Indianapolis!

OBS-SIS Chair
P.S.--did you hear about the used book swap?! Come to the Activities area!
