Hello!
This year RLIN Activities at AALL will held on Monday, July 22,
and include the usual OBS-SIS RLIN Committee Open Discussion (details
below), and the first ever RLIN Law Forum.
The Forum will be held on Monday, July 22, after the Open Discussion, in
two sessions. Session One (8:30-10:00 am) will focus on technical
processing developments (e.g., connectivity, format integration,
Diogenes), and Session Two (10:15-11:45 am) will focus on developments in
other areas (e.g., Ariel, future web access plans, new RLIN Instructional
Services at RLG).
Watch your email, and the message board at AALL under "R," for more
information about the Forum and the Open Discussion (including rooms
where they will be held). For more information on RLIN Activities at
AALL, please feel free to contact me at either of the email addresses or
phone numbers listed below. -- Heather.

"Round Robin Discussion Items"
This year, at the RLIN Open Discussion, we will spend less time hearing
about RLIN and RLG developments since they will be presented in greater
detail at the RLIN Forum. Please take a few moments to respond to any of
these questions, whether or not you plan on attending the meeting;
responses will be summarized and distributed at the meeting to initiate
discussion. A report from the meeting will be posted to various
discussions lists, sent to all respondents, and included in a forthcoming
TSLL RLIN Column.
Please send responses to Heather Hawkins, hawkinsh@usfca.edu or
heddy@well.com, 415-666-2345 (Fax), 415-666-2248 (Voice) by Monday, July
15th. And, please don't hesitate to contact me with questions about RLIN
Activities at AALL. Thank you!
1) RLIN network transition: What influenced your decision on
connectivity options? What issues have you addressed/are addressing as a
result of your decision?
2) Have you used any of the new features resulting from Format
Integration? (e.g., new fields, redefined fields, indexing and retrieval
options, records representing multiple formats)
3) What issues has RLIN for Windows raised in your library? (e.g.,
workflow changes, advice or tips to share with others, etc.) Have you
used the user-defined command buttons?
4) Do you anticipate using record transfer from RLIN by PASS or PUT more
or less often next year? What local conditions affect your usage?
5) About your library and you:
