Well, up here Ontario case law is on LEXIS from 1986 (Court of Appeal), 1990
(General Division), and 1991 (Divisional Court) to date. These include
"Superior
Court" decisions. The file is ONTCJ, available from the CANADA, INTLA &
COMCAS libraries. But obviously you would have found them if they were
available to you.
My guess is that you are a victim of the same byzantine LEXIS licensing laws
that
prevent Canadian users from accessing Scottish case law.
I suggest that you look into QuickLaw (QL). It will give you access to case law
from all of the provinces as well as the Federal Court of Canada, Tax Court of
Canada, and the Supreme Court of Canada. The Canadian Abridgment's case
digests
and case citations components are also on QL, as well as data bases carrying the
full-text of federal and Ontario legislation, and the legislation of several of
the other provinces. QL also has a number of data bases that carry information
on Canadian companies, news and business developments.
All of this for a cost that is a fraction of what LEXIS charges. The
transactional
rate up here is $165.00 Canadian per hour (or, $24.95 U.S.), and there are
no hidden
costs (printing, displaying, doodling, etc.).
