Judy, I'm just a country lawyer (as Senator Sam used to say), but it doesn't
really feel like this is an immutable divinely-ordained state of affairs.

The other lists I'm on have never auto-deleted me. And my own experience with
sending private email is that "transitory" errors are pretty common because
servers are taken offline or crash or nodes hang up or something (like I said,
I'm just a ...).

Have you checked with John Christensen about the Washburn servers? Most of
the other lists I deal with come out of there, and they seem to maintain their
subscribers more reliably than law-lib.

[Of course, I may be wrong. Law-lib carries more volume than all my other
lists put together. That's why we all notice so quickly when it disappears.
That may also cause it to get proportionately more errors than the other
servers, leading to more auto-deletes. But still, I don't remember EVER being
deleted from any other list.]
