Shepards Finance & Commerce (was Question for Minnesota law-lib)

Having read some of the discussion on vendor-neutral citation systems,
following Shepards' call for comment on its proposed change to Finance &
Commerce citations, I'd just like to add my $0.02 as a (hopefully unbiased)
outsider.

I can appreciate both:

(a) the desirability of a public domain, vendor-neutral citation (i.e. the
docket cite), particularly for those who may not have access to a specific
printed series; and on the other hand

(b) the convenience for the majority of users of a particular publication of
having cites to a printed series to which they have quick and easy access.

But does it have to be an either/or? Why not recommend to Shepards that
they include both Finance & Commerce AND docket cites?
