16th Edition of the Bluebook

Greetings everyone,

I just got off the telephone with the Harvard Law Review. I was told that
the 16th edition of the Bluebook will not be available until July sometime.
According to the person I spoke with, it hasn't even gone to the publisher
yet.

My problem is we are being asked for Fall Semester book orders now. I
am tempted to go ahead and order the 15th edition ( I assume we can still
get it) because if we wait until July I'm not sure our bookstore can even
get copies of the 16th edition in before school starts in mid-August. And
even if they can, a month at the most doesn't leave those of us who
teach legal research a whole lot of time to come up to speed on changes
(especially when you factor in the AALL Convention and vacations). It
will be a nightmare for us because we also have to incorporate the
changes into our course materials.

I assume many of you are in the same predicament we are. Have you
decided yet how you will handle this? My inclination is to go with the
sure thing and order the 15th edition. On the other hand, our students
will have to purchase the 16th edition sooner or later. If I knew what
changes to expect, the decision would be much easier -- but the person I
talked with couldn't give me any help in that area either. I would
appreciate any further information you may have and especially your
thoughts on this issue. Thanks much.
