The Hugh F. MacMillan Law Library of Emory University School of Law is proud
to announce the addition of two new public interest/non profit sites to its
Web:

The Atlanta Legal Aid Society
<URL:http://www.law.emory.edu/PI/ALAS/> and

The Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation
<URL:http://www.law.emory.edu/PI/AVLF/>

The Atlanta Legal Aid Society (ALAS) has represented Atlanta's poor in civil
legal cases since 1924. The ALAS site includes complete information about
their organization, services, and volunteer opportunities, including their
AIDS Legal Project, Home Defense Program, Senior Citizens Project, and Mental
Health Law Project, among others. The ALAS site also includes its two
newsletters, information about summer internships for law students, unique
forms to facilitate community involvement and volunteerism, and its complete
inventory of Community Education brochures.

The Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) is a non-profit foundation
dedicated to providing access to justice in civil matters, through the use of
volunteer attorneys, for persons of low income in Fulton County, Georgia.
The AVLF site provides complete information about the foundation and its
services, lists specific volunteer opportunities available to attorneys, law
firms, and law students, and also includes a page with links to other pro
bono and volunteer attorney service organizations on the Web and to major
non-profit sites.

The sites permit visitors to volunteer on-line or subscribe to the e-mail
mailing lists of the two organizations. The two sites, including graphics
and design, were created and coordinated as a volunteer effort by Emory Law
School alumnus Eric Ogrey, and are sponsored by Emory Law School and the
Atlanta office of Eric's Law Firm, Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue.
