Reference Librarian, Part-Time (Job Share)
The Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom is seeking a
dynamic, experienced law librarian with excellent reference skills to
join our team of information professionals. The Chicago office library
currently has a staff of four professionals, one technical specialist,
and a library assistant, and serves approximately 100 attorneys. The
position will involve part-time work in a job-sharing arrangement with
our current Reference Librarian. The hours will generally be two to
three days per week as mutually agreed upon by the sharers. The
position is primarily reference but will, of course, involve some
administrative responsibilities.
Requirements include MLS degree or equivalent and law library
experience, with proficiency in a wide range of legal and non-legal
databases and CD-ROM; internet experience will be a plus.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and
communications skills, a lively interest in research, and the desire to
work cooperatively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Salary will be commensurate with years of experience.
