I found a surprising use for the stamps on my books. When our business
manager realized she was overpaying business personal property taxes, we had
to reconstruct the date and cost of acquisition of all our books - in a
library that had virtually no recordkeeping until 2 years ago. Thank
goodness I could look on the page edges to see the source of the books that
came as gifts from other libraries.
You just never know what is useful until you need it.
