Art Law - The Results

I recently queried the list asking for
recommendations for Art Law treatises. Here are
the results.

In my original post I stated that Little, Brown
and Company (LB) was no longer updating ART LAW:
RIGHTS AND LIABILITIES OF CREATORS AND COLLECTORS.
Several librarians reported that they had been
told that while a 1996 update was not going to be
produced a 1997 update was. I then talked with my
LB rep., who talked to an editor. To my
knowledge, this is the current status of this LB
publication: No 1996 update will be produced. A
1997 update MAY be published, although it is not
currently scheduled. LB considers this title an
active title, and all subscribers will receive
future updates if/and when they are published.

Regarding other Art Law titles. The two most
recommended titles were, ART LAW: THE GUIDE FOR
COLLECTORS, INVESTORS, DEALERS AND ARTISTS by
Ralph E. Lerner (New York: PLI, 1989 w/1992
update) and ART, ARTIFACT AND ARCHITECTURE LAW by
Jessica L. Darraby (New York: CBC, 1995, updated
annually.)

As always, THANKS for all your help.

Dick Vaughan
