Dear Law Librarian,
As a recognized, experienced law librarian with professional affiliation
with AALL -- in both your national and local New York chapter -- you are a
leader in your profession. Your expertise determines which research materials
are available in libraries and which research methods will be utilized.
Lawyers Cooperative Publishing has been publishing legal reference and
analytical materials for more than a century. As we develop new products for
the electronic age, it's imperative that we fully understand the changing
law library environment and evolving legal research needs. For this, we
would like your insight.
You may recall the results of our first New York Law Librarians Survey
entitled, "The Impact of Technology on Legal Research," which were met with
overwhelming response from both the law librarian community and news
media covering legal technology. As technology continues to advance and
change the way we access information, it is more important than ever for us
to ask, "What works?"
We have developed the enclosed Law Librarian Survey which has been
updated to reflect changing technology. Please take the time to complete it
so that we can incorporate your expertise regarding these issues.
Your opinions matter to us.
The survey is purposely brief so it should take but a few minutes of
your time. We do understand the value of your work and its demands. Please
return your completed survey form by April 10st.
We will share the results of our survey with you and your colleagues.
Our hope is that we can all approach this rapidly changing electronic age in
the most productive way -- with publishers and professional users working
together.
If you have any questions regarding the survey or its contents, please
feel free to call me at (800) 882-9989.
Thank you for your participation.
Sincerely,
Maura A. Donovan
