A pleasant anecdote

Hello law-lib folks,

Just wanted to share an experience I had, showing people really do
appreciate us. We know this already but it's nice to be reinforced once
in awhile.

I was at the reference desk last night and two people approached me with
a question. I did some searching, found the answer and apparently saved
them alot of time. They had left information at their office and needed
it for their research. This was not an extremely involved search but
they were very appreciative of my help. So appreciative in fact, they
offered me two baseball tickets for the second home game of the Red Sox
season! I was quite happily surprised and look forward to attending the
game. I will toast my profession with my first beer of the baseball
season! So, there really are people out there who value what we do and
it's great to get an unexpected thank you present as a bonus!
