Subject: POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT (U. of Hawaii)
LAW LIBRARIAN & ASSOCIATE or FULL PROFESSOR of LAW, full-time, tenure
track, 11 month appointment, starting date negotiable, subject to
availability of funding and position clearance. Duties: Responsible
for: administration, short & long-term planning, and development of the
law library and its collection; teaching a course in legal bibliography;
and other teaching and administrative duties. Minimum qualifications for
Associate Professor: JD; a degree in library or information science; and
at least four years experience in law library administration. Minimum
qualifications for full Professor: JD; degree in library or information
science; and at least 8 years experience in law library administration.
Desirable qualifications for both Associate and full Professor:
distinguished academic record; excellent reputation as a law librarian;
interest or expertise in information technology; and demonstrated
excellence in teaching and scholarship. The requirement of a degree in
library or information science may be waived if candidate demonstrates
substantial experience and expertise in law library administration.
