        I regret to inform you that Jessie Matthews passed away on February
26 at her home in Philadelphia. As many of you know, Jessie had been a
librarian at Rutgers for 33 years. Prior to joining the library staff, she
worked briefly at Cheney University in Pennsylvania and in Morristown
College in Tennessee.

        The Matthews/Hague family has requested that friends and colleagues
interested in making a charitable donation in Jessie's memory, send their
gifts to the Rutgers Foundation so that a scholarship fund may be
established. Please make your checks payable to the Rutgers Foundation -
Camden Law. In your cover letter or in the note/memo section on your check,
please write "In memory of Jessie L. Matthews." Gifts may be sent to
