Good morning all! We have some good news in library-land.
US News has included library schools in its rankings of America's Best
Graduate Schools this year (March 18, 1996 issue). Regardless of what you
may think about these lists, and overlooking the fact that we only rate a
table in the middle of the journalism section, I think the inclusion of
graduate library education is A Good Thing. It gives us more credibility as
a graduate program, and might put some pressure on universities to pay some
attention to their library schools. The journalism article begins on page
98, the library school table is on page 100.
