I agree that the ALA promotional materials are wonderful and I even love
and occasionally use the kid's stuff in our firm library BUT I am very
disappointed in the fact that AALL has once again abandoned an important
opportunity to help us promote ourselves to our users.
I feel that promoting our profession should be one of AALL's fundamental
goals. Why has it slipped so far in priorities? No matter how
technically savvy I am, no matter how well versed in meeting the
information needs of each user, I will not be recognized until the
profession is appreciated.
