I am in contact with a representative of Aspen attempting to get answers to
the following questions I've culled from law-lib for the May CRIV Q&A column.
Please let me know if you have anything to add to these.
1. What is Aspen's policy on automatic shipments of materials and how can a
library arrange to NOT receive unsolicited items?
2. Why are my former Prentice Hall accounts still listed as past due when I
have returned the items noted and/or have paid the bill long ago?
3. Why are long time customers charged $20 for FED EX shipments just because
we don't pay with a credit card?
4. Why is Aspen splitting up sets and charging extra for the "new" set?
Let me say that Aspen is trying very hard to answer these questions to
everyone's satisfaction and they do not like the fact that they are the
subject of so much ill will on this list. I feel that this is a good
opportunity to air our grievances and open the lines of communication with a
company who is willing to address our concerns (unlike a certain publishing
house we know. Won't mention any names, but they start with a "J"). Please
send any additional questions/comments to me at taxlibdii@aol.com and look
for the answers in the May CRIV Sheet.
