I would urge you to consider buying an ink jet or even a laser printer
for this application. As you may know, GPO Access (unlike other sources,
such as Legi-Slate, Lexis, or Westlaw) gives you the option of
downloading the actual image of pages from bills, the Federal Register,
etc., using the Adobe Acrobat PDF format. (The viewing software is
available free from Adobe.) This comes in very handy when patrons need
an official-looking version of such documents. But in order to print out
the page image, you need an ink jet or laser printer. Also, remember
that some of these databases, particularly the Federal Register, contain
graphics (maps, charts, tables, molecular diagrams, whatever), that you
won't be able to print without a graphics-capable printer.
