Hi all-
I want to thank all those who replied to my question. Many possible
sources were suggested, and all have either been used, or requested
through ILL.
I want to particularly thank Jane Williams at the University of
Illinois Law Library who was able to answer the question
specifically with the exact number of reported lynchings per year
that I requested.
For those interested, she found the statistics in the "Historical
Statistics of the United States--Colonial Times to 1970."
Once again, thank you all for your help. The response was
tremendous, and very timely.
Take care,
Brian-
