I agree with Joe. Yes, we may be posting here to catch the attention of
the publishers/vendors, but we are ALSO posting here to alert our
colleagues to things we have discovered that they might not have seen.
In our operation, other people check in the mail. In the normal course
of things, I would not have known about price increases on CBC titles
until the material had already been marked up, making it unreturnable
if we decided the increases were too much -- or for any other reason.

When I see mail on lawlib about a vendor's titles (last year it was
Little,Brown and Shepards and now it's CBC), I have a chance to put notes
in our records asking for the items to be reviewed by the Selections
Committee before being processed. This is a valuable service, and I
greatly appreciate the notification. Sometimes we decide to keep the
title, sometimes we cancel, sometimes we cut copies -- but at least we
can make informed choices.

Thanks to all of you alert folks for your help. It makes it easier for me to
do my job properly, and I'll try to repay the favor when I spot something
first.

Anne
