need recommendation re laws on backgroun

I wonder if someone can recommend a treatise or looseleaf which provides on
a state by state basis the laws relating to legalities of companies
performing background checks (usually to identify a criminal record or
conviction) before making an employment offer to an individual. Any info or
suggestion is welcome. TIA
