Katherine:
Try _Stein's Personal Injury Damages Service_ or an article in
the journal _For the Defense_, Sept. 1993, pp. 10-17. The first, in
volume four provides full text and cites to codes for damage caps for
noneconomic and punitive damages and for medical malpractice, wrongful
death, dram shop and government liability actions. This, if you can get
it, should be current, since it is a looseleaf. The article would at
least give you a leg-up in doing the research. On page 17, in Table I,
it lists cites to codes and cases where the consitutionality of such
damage caps was challenged. It lists the states where the cap was held
constitutional and those where it was struck down.
This came from Cheryl Rae Nyberg's Subject Compilations of State
Laws_ for 1992-1993. It's a wonderful source whenever you have to survey
all 50 states for a type of statute.
        Good luck!
