as the new editor of the journal of maritime law and commerce, i
wanted to take this opportunity to let the list know of our interest
in receiving manuscripts from librarians.

we are particularly interested in book reviews and
bibliographies. we also are interested in how-to pieces, such as how
to do specialized legal research, how to use the internet, etc.

if you are not familiar with the journal, let me give you a quick
overview. founded in 1969, the journal is the leading maritime law
review in the United States. in addition, it has a large
international readership. as a peer-edited, peer-run journal, no
students are involved in the journal. we make acceptance/declination
decisions in 2 weeks or less, and publish manuscripts typically
within 3-4 months of receipt. authors receive 25 free reprints and 3
free copies of the issue in which their work appears. we are a
quarterly, and appear in january, april, july and october.

as our name implies, we are interested in all aspects of
admiralty and maritime law: commercial and recreational,
contemporary and historical, domestic and international. we normally
shy away from law of the sea matters, although on occasion we have
published LOS articles.

if you would ever like to submit a manuscript, or discuss an idea
that you have for a manuscript, please contact me. i can be reached
