Dear Law-Libbers:
I'm trying to find one (or several) sample corporate Internet policy use
statements. In addition to standard language stating "The Internet is a
corporate tool for business use only" (like most e-mail policies), I'm am also
looking for langauge that would allow the company to select who gets and
doesn't get access so as to shield the company from any allegations of
discrimination. I.E., "denial of access to the internet inhibited my
professional growth and is de facto discrimination."
This is a bit different than some of the academic concerns, but I would be
happy for some academic examples to build on. I would be delighted to repost
any results or examples for the benefit of the group. And I will share our
final statement (after our lawyers have had their way with it) with any
contributors who desire a copy.
