Perhaps this info. may save others from the confusion & time wasted in
resolving it.
Today's mail brought a package from BNA containing the Windows version of
the Environment Library (we currently subscribe to the DOS version) CD-ROM.
This was sent automatically, albeit at no additional cost, although we
neither need nor want it. What is not immediately apparent:
--this shipment also contains the November 1995 update (new CD-ROM &
tables) which all DOS subscribers will want to install ASAP per their
usual procedures. Had I not been digging through the materials as I was
discussing the shipment with BNA customer service, I would have
completely overlooked the update. Everything is just stuffed into the
Windows User Guide binder.
--although a flyer inserted in the package states that beginning in early
1996 this product will be available in Windows ONLY, the following
sentence tells the subscriber to send in the card which will be included
in the December supplement if you want to continue receiving the DOS
version. The customer rep. and I puzzled over the wording, and agreed
that what they meant to say was that beginning in early 1996 the Windows
version will ship automatically, unless you request otherwise.
I guess the bottom line is: if you want to stick with DOS be sure to be
on the lookout for the card in next month's supplement - and be sure to
ferret out the November DOS disk from the Windows stuff.
