**REVISED DESCRIPTION**

Drake University Law Library is an academic research library housing a
collection of over 250,000 volumes and is a selective U.S. Government
Despository with an emphasis on legislative and regulatory materials. The
law library's primary patron base is its 510 law students and 25 faculty.
Attorneys, paralegals and other academics and professionals make frequent
use of the facility.

The Dwight D. Opperman Hall and Law Library was dedicated in 1993 by United
States Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. The outstanding architecture
of the new $8.5 million facility has received three design awards and been
featured on the covers of several architectural journals. The library has
extensive research tools available from books to CD-ROM to
computer-assisted legal research to the Internet. The Computer
Services/Reference Librarian is a key position in supporting the Library's
sophisticated technological environment.

founded in 1865 and is a charter member of the Association of American Law
Schools. Drake is also one of only 73 law schools authorized to have a
chapter of and admit selected students to The Order of the Coif, the
national honorary scholastic society for the law.

Duties:
The Computer Services/Reference Librarian is responsible for the
implementation and operation of all electronic systems in the Law Library
and computer labs, including assistance to faculty and staff of the law
school and law library. Additional duties are to provide research
assistance, guidance and training in the use of legal materials and
computer search services, as well as general reference services.

Qualifications:
Drake University Law Library seeks a librarian with good interpersonal
skills and strong service orientation. The candidate must have: an M.L.S.
from an ALA accredited institution; a J.D. from an ABA accredited
institution and/or law library experience; extensive knowledge of computer
systems, Internet resources and software applications; law library and
reference experience; demonstrated administrative and organizational
ability. This librarian reports to the Director of the Law Library.

tenure track. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
