Law Librarian - Springfield, IL
The Supreme Court of Illinois Library invites applications
for the position of Law Librarian. The position is part of
a team of eight professionals and para-professionals providing
library services in Springfield and Chicago. This position
will be a key player in the selection development, and
management of the library's automated library information
system. The position has responsibility for copy and original
cataloging, classification, and organization of materials,
participates in reference desk coverage using conventional
research methods, online databases, CD-ROM products and other
technology. We are looking for a versatile and enthusiastic
person with a strong service orientation, who can work well as
part of a team. This is a great opportunity for an energetic
librarian to play a major role in the evolution of a 100,000+
volume, 150 year-old library.
Requirements: ALA accredited MLS. Two years law library experience
in law cataloging or technical services; familiarity with AACR2
revised, LC classification, MARC formats, and knowledge of legal
research and bibliography; experience using spreadsheet applications
and the Internet are a plus.
Salary: Commensurate with ability and experience.
