Users of Inmagic software -
I would appreciate hearing from Inmagic users (either DOS or Windows
versions) who are importing the full text of documents (letters,
memos, reports, etc.) into Inmagic databases. I am particularly
interested in discussing experiences with documents containing
footnotes.
As you know, before being imported into Inmagic, documents must be
converted to ASCII format. Converting to ASCII deletes most of the
word processing codes in a document. Since footnotes are imbedded in
codes in WordPerfect documents, conversion of WP files to ASCII
deletes footnotes! We have found a somewhat clumsy fix for this
problem, but would like to know if others have encountered it and how
they have responded. Please reply to me directly. Many thanks in
advance.
