The private law firm librarians in Cincinnati have asked a library school
student to investigate the options in creating a union list of holdings for
their libraries. This is a project that has been dreamed about for more than
5 years, but there was no time to go through with it. The student would like
information on the following:
1. Other communities of private law firm librarians who have successfully
created union lists.
The Atlanta Law Libraries Association (ALLA) has a union
list of periodicals and looseleafs that is now in its 8th or
9th edition, published more or less annually. Contributing
libraries are mainly law firms, but court and academic have
taken part as well.
2. Any types of cooperative arrangements between law librarians.
ALLA uses membership in the association as a basis for
local ILL agreements. (Membership is $25.00/person/year)
