Circular referrals are frequently unpleasant for the reference librarian to
answer, or at least explain why he can't answer. i.e. "But the Supreme
Court of Georgia referred me to you and said I could ask you this
statute of limitation question!!" yes, well. They said you could ask
but did they say we would/could answer it? And if someone asks a
question on law-lib and is ignored, does he feel "he's gotten poor
or inadequate service from another library"?

Maybe a free-for-all, unlimited access, toss out any old law-related
question listserv would be handy -- but I don't think it should be the
law-lib. Let's keep it law librarians and the friends of law
librarians and best of enemies of law librarians and interested observers
of law librarians.

So is there somewhere we refer pro se's or students or otherwise
unidentified
folks with questions? I'd love to have another source to refer customers
to when I can't figure out any other way to help them!
